Stephen Ashton National Director of Marketing and Sales

Before joining Trail Life, Stephen spent 15 years working alongside pioneers in Residential Therapeutic Wilderness Camping, leading a team of counselors and educators dedicated to transforming the lives of boys and families. A passionate outdoorsman, he lived in the woods for three years, guiding boys in a therapeutic setting where they built their own shelters and lived outdoors year-round. Stephen has logged thousands of miles leading canoeing and backpacking expeditions, spearheaded efforts to launch a similar residential wilderness program for girls, and served as Vice President of the Wilderness Road Therapeutic Camping Association.

Stephen holds Master’s degrees in Religion and Education. An accomplished author and speaker, he has contributed to professional journals and published two-volume work chronicling the foundations of therapeutic camping. He is frequently invited to speak on topics such as fatherhood, biblical masculinity, outdoor education, and wilderness therapy.
